Park Hyatt Aviara - Carlsbad, CA

This Park Hyatt is a beautiful resort quietly tucked away in the serene
Carlsbad hills inland from the coast.  The hotel is elegantly designed
and decorated and complements the serenity of its' surrounding
environments.  If you are looking for a low-key, "get away from it all
respit", then this is the place for you.  If you like a little bit of high-brow
and a world unto itself, then this is the place for you.  A little bit too serious
for a family with a four year old toddler and a lot of energy on their minds.
This property used to be a Four Seasons Hotel and is very much still
like one.  The property was not too child friendly, although there was a
game room (arcades, air hockey table, pool table, TV, and such)  on the
bottom floor. Kids were dressed in formal dresses and ties in the game room.
When it came time for dinner, there was not much of a selection, especially
for our toddler, so we drove about ten minutes to find a restaurant nearby.
The grounds were lush with very green landscaping and also big enough for us
to take a nice peaceful walk in the morning. We did enjoy the complimentary
water bottle at the end of our stay when we picked up our car from the valet.
Oh yes, there is only valet parking.   Overall, we did enjoy our stay but would
only recommend this Hyatt for retirees or a romantic getaway for two.
